Kanye West, a popular American rapper, has recently deactivated his Instagram account without providing any explanation. He announced the deactivation through a post on his Instastory on Tuesday, where he shared a screenshot of the confirmation page. Following this announcement, his account was promptly closed.
This is not the first time that West has deactivated his IG page – he did so previously in October 2018 and September 2020. These previous deactivations were prompted by backlash he received due to his support of former US president Donald Trump and his controversial performance on Saturday Night Live.
Kanye West also faced consequences for his actions on social media in the past. In October 2022, he made antisemitic remarks on Instagram, leading to the suspension of his account. Later in December 2022, Twitter owner Elon Musk suspended him from Twitter after he shared an image containing a Swastika.
