The Udu local government area in Delta State is currently experiencing fear and concern due to an accident involving a petrol truck.
The tanker, which was carrying a load of petrol, reportedly fell on top of the Udu bridge, resulting in the spillage of its contents onto the surrounding environment. As a result, road users and business persons who were under the bridge at the time of the accident have begun evacuating from the location due to the risk of an explosion or fire.
The petrol tanker’s fall has also blocked the bridge, thereby depriving road users of access to the Sedco area of the town.
Additionally, individuals who are returning from the Ovwian, Owase, and Jigbale axis have been unable to access the area due to the spillage. At present, the cause of the accident is unknown, and the incident has caused significant gridlock on top of the bridge. As a result, some road users have been forced to take alternative routes to reach their destinations.
