The Ebonyi State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Francis Nwifuru, has refuted the allegations that it approved Governor David Umahi’s outgoing administration’s N33 billion loan request.
The Majority Leader, Victor Chukwu, dismissed the claims as false and misleading during a media briefing.
Chukwu clarified that the state government had never approached the legislature to request any loan and that the circulating false information was the opposition’s doing. He expressed his dismay at the extent to which opposition parties are using politics to misinform the public about the government.
