It was all smiles at the Manchester United locker room as they put in a clinical display to secure a comfortable win over Nottingham Forest, with Antony’s goal and assist contributing significantly to the victory.
As a result, United moved up to third in the Premier League table, while Forest missed out on the opportunity to climb out of the relegation zone.
Antony opened the scoring for United in the 32nd minute, stabbing the ball home after Anthony Martial’s initial effort was saved by Forest keeper Keylor Navas. Later in the game, Antony turned provider, playing a pass to Diogo Dalot who slotted in United’s second goal with just 14 minutes left on the clock.
With this win, United extended their lead over fourth-placed Newcastle United to three points, while also putting six points between themselves and fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who have played an extra game. For Forest, the defeat meant they remained in 17th place, just inside the bottom three on goal difference.
