Barcelona striker, Robert Lewandowski, recently expressed his desire to play alongside Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi in the upcoming season.
There have been reports that Messi is unhappy with PSG and is considering a move away from the French team, with Barcelona being a top contender to bring him back to his former club.
The vice-president of Barcelona, Rafa Yuste, has confirmed that they are currently in discussions with Messi and his father Jorge about a possible return. However, they are not the only club interested in Messi, as Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal is also reportedly negotiating a €400 million deal with the seven-time Ballon d’Or holder.
Despite the competition, Lewandowski remains optimistic that Messi will return to play in Spain, and he is excited about the possibility of playing with one of the greatest football players of all time.
Lewandowski said: “Messi belongs to Barca and if he returns it will be something incredible,” Lewandowski told Mundo Deportivo
“We know that his place is here in Barcelona. I don’t know what will happen, but I hope that next season we can play together.”
