The President of Nigeria, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has arrived in Madinah, Saudi Arabia to begin an eight-day official visit to the country. On Monday, Buhari and some of his aides departed from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 9:10 a.m. and arrived at the Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah at around 5:00 p.m. local time.
During his stay in Madinah, the President will participate in the five daily prayers and the Taraweeh prayer at the Masjid Nabawi. He will depart for Makkah via Jeddah on Wednesday to undertake the lesser pilgrimage.
In a statement released on Monday, Malam Garba Shehu, the President’s spokesman, revealed that this official visit from April 11 to 19 will be Buhari’s final trip to Saudi Arabia as President of Nigeria.
