The President of Nigeria Major General Muhammadu Buhari, will begin an eight-day official trip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The purpose of his visit is to perform Umrah, which is known as the Lesser Pilgrimage.
In the press release titled “President Buhari’s official visit to Saudi Arabia,” The Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, to the President Garba Shehu indicated on Monday evening that the President would be traveling with his aides.
In his statement he said: “Buhari will travel to Saudi Arabia on an official visit from Tuesday, April 11 to 19 on his last trip to the Kingdom as President, during which he will perform Umrah, the Lesser Pilgrimage,”
Buhari, who assumed office as President in May 2015, has visited the Kingdom six times, with his latest visit being the final one. Over the course of his presidency, he has visited more than 40 countries, with the United States, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and France being the countries he has visited the most.
Additionally, he has made multiple trips to Ethiopia, the United Arab Emirates, Ghana, Niger, and Senegal. Buhari has also visited countries like China, Germany, Benin, The Gambia, Kenya, Equatorial Guinea, Egypt, Mali, and Chad at least twice.
He has travelled to other countries as well, such as Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, India, Sudan, Spain, Iran, Malta, Rwanda, Qatar, Turkey, Scotland, Morocco, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Jordan, Burkina Faso, Belgium, Liberia, and Japan, totalling over 40 countries and almost 90 trips.
