Alex Otti, the winner of the Abia State governorship election from the Labour Party, has emphasized that his priority upon assuming office on May 29th will be to address the issue of salary payments.

During an appearance on Arise Television’s ‘The Morning Show’ on Thursday, he stated that he aims to ensure that salaries are paid on time, which has been a significant concern in the state. Additionally, he highlighted his plans for a “general restructuring” of the state, indicating that residents should expect significant changes in how things are run.

The Abia State governor-elect secured a total of 175,467 votes, defeating his closest rival, Okey Ahiwe of the Peoples Democratic Party, who received 88,529 votes to come in second place. With his win, Otti aims to usher in a new era of governance in the state and tackle some of the pressing issues that have plagued Abia State for a long time.

Ottiti said, “There is no problem in taking loans, but the problem is what you do with the loans. Payment of salaries is my priority.”

“We will create a bigger economy, a robust economy; we will do everything possible to ensure our economy grows.”

“In the next few days, I will appoint a team that will be sworn in on May 29. I will appoint the right people who will help me.

“We will look at a lot of things, but we will take it step by step, including revenue.” Otti noted.
