President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to his hometown of Daura in Katsina State in preparation for the upcoming Governorship and Assembly elections.
After arriving in Daura, he paid a visit to the Emir of Daura, Dr. Umar Faruk Umar, to offer his condolences following the passing of Hajiya Talatu, the Emir’s eldest daughter. The President spoke highly of the deceased, praising her as an embodiment of motherhood and a shining example of kindness, compassion, and good character.
The Emir expressed his appreciation for the President’s visit and offered prayers for the repose of Hajiya Talatu’s soul as well as for the safety and prosperity of the nation. Upon his arrival at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport, Buhari was greeted by Governor Aminu Bello Masari, Deputy Governor Mannir Yakubu, Senator Bello Mandiya, Director General of the National Intelligence Agency Ambassador Ahmed Rufa’i Abubakar, and other members of the State Assembly and Executive Council.
