Former Chelsea winger and Brazilian international, Willian has expressed his deepest regret after leaving Chelsea to move to London rivals, Arsenal.

Going back in time, during the Frank Lampard era as Chelsea manager, Chelsea offered Willian two years contract extension despite being over 30 years (in which Chelsea does not offer more than a year once a player is 30 years old). The Brazilian rejected and requested for three years which is known to be impossible as far as Chelsea is concerned during the Roman era.

While the season is going to the end and Chelsea is still trying to make him sign the two years he was offered, reports reveal that Willian already had a pre-contract with Arsenal. This left Chelsea with no choice than to let go, with Willian getting three years contract and a huge pay rise at Arsenal.

The move was sealed and everything start well as Willian gave a Man of the match performance in his debut PL match against Fulham, assisting two and having contribution in the other one goal scored in the match. From that moment on things went downcast for Willian which eventually led to his contract being terminated.

“Yeah. I wish I’d never left. Of course it’s easy to say now, but when I stop and think about all the situations…I say to myself ‘I wish I never left’. It’s life,” he told Sky Sports. “I’m happy now at Fulham, enjoying myself there, this is life.”

I don’t know. It was in the middle of the… it was changing a lot. I was excited when I signed with them,” he added. “I was training hard but it just didn’t work, and that’s it.
