Governor Soludo Gives New Directives Concerning The Use Of Old Naira Notes In Anambra State

The Executive Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo has finally addressed his state after the supreme court ruled that old Naira Notes can still be used till December.

In his address, the Governor made it clear that he has spoken with the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Emefiele and he has approved the use of old Naira Note.

“Commercial banks have been directed by the Central Bank to dispense old currency notes and to also receive same as deposits from customers. Tellers at the commercial banks are to generate the codes for deposits and there is no limit to the number of times an individual or company can make deposits”,he added.

Soludo added that the Governor of the CBN gave the directive at a Bankers’ Committee meeting held on Sunday, 12th March, 2023.

Governor Soludo made this known in a statement he released on his Facebook page in the early hours of Monday, 13th of March 2023.
