The governing body of the English Premier League, The Football Association has started investigating Arsenal wild celebration after Reiss Nelson scored a dramatic late goal to cap an astonishing comeback in a 3-2 win over Bournemouth.
The goal sparked chaotic scenes, with members of the Arsenal coaching staff and substitutes flooding onto the pitch to join in with the jubilant celebrations.
The incident was reported by referee Chris Kavanagh in his post-match report before sending it off to the FA and the English game’s governing body is now looking into what happened as a matter of course.
Though there is no comment from The FA yet, the rule that could trigger the probe state that “players and staff should always behave in a ‘responsible manner’ on the touchline and that they should not go onto the pitch without a valid reason, such as the club’s physio going on to treat an injured player”.
While the team wait for words from the FA, the focus is now on Europa league round of sixteen tie with Sporting Lisbon in the capital of Portugal.
