Ondo State Police arrested a 16-year-old girl for the death a 52-year-old woman, Medina Aliu, in Isolo, Akure region of the state.
On the day of the incident, the deceased and the suspect had an augment over a matter that bordered on a well in the neighbourhood.
According to community sources, the argument escalated into a brawl and a teenager allegedly pushed Aliu, causing her to fall to her death.
“The problem started when the suspect was fetching water from a well in the area after she had earlier taken her bath.
The deceased noticed that the suspect did not cover her hair and asked her to cover it.
“It led to an altercation. When the deceased tried to pull the suspect away from the  well, the suspect pushed Aliu and she fell and died,” said the source.
- A state police spokesman, Hummirayo Odunrami, who was contacted, confirmed the incident, adding that an investigation into the incident had begun.
“The case was handed over to the State Criminal Police Department.
Department for further investigation,”the PPRO stated .
However, it was determined that the deceased was buried according to Islamic rites.
